Steam Sale detectives are 'on the right track'

There is something to be uncovered in the Steam winter sale. A new clue indicates that those following the trail of breadcrumbs are on the right track.

The Steam Sale is definitely more than meets the eye as previously thought. Those still involved in the search for clues have found confirmation that "they are on the right track."

On December 24th, a javascript code for a hidden password prompt was implemented into the Steam store. All you have to do to bring it up is type "Search" and hit Enter on any Steam store page on a web browser. At the moment, only one working password has been uncovered, 94050999014715. That is the number taken from the first page of the Winter Sale Comic, which has since been removed from it.

This works on the store page of Hitman: Codename 47 and returns the string "ic/4f21ca7". When this is added to the URL of the Winter Sale Comic it redirects to an audio file. In this file, a detective says that he knows he's on the right track and that he was going to search again tomorrow.

So, there's still no definitive answer just yet. All we know for now is that there is something to be found. But this latest clue is all the motivation that the online investigator's on Reddit's steamsaledetectives will need to keep plugging away at it.
