Sony tipped to release multiple variants of the Xperia Z6
Sony is reportedly planning to release five variants of the Xperia Z6, ranging in size from a meagre 4-inches up to 6.4-inches.
Sony is reportedly planning to release several variants of the Xperia Z6 next year.
According to a post on Antutu's Weibo page, Sony will release five versions of the Xperia Z6, ranging in size from 4- to 6.4-inches. The Xperia Z6 is expected to come in at 5.2-inches, which appears to be the sweet spot for handsets.
Not only is Sony to release a 4.6-inch Xperia Z6 Compact, but it is apparently planning an even smaller 4-inch Z6 Mini. This will allegedly pack a Snapdragon 620, unlike the rest of the range, which are to be powered by the Snapdragon 820.
On the larger end of the spectrum are the 5.8-inch Xperia Z6 Plus and a 6.4-inch Xperia Z6 Ultra.
Antutu also maintains that the Xperia Z6 and Z6 Plus will feature a form of pressure sensitive displays. This appears to be the new hot topic with Apple already having featured them on the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus and Samsung apparently planning to use them on the upcoming Galaxy S7.
We're likely to hear official news from Sony regarding its Xperia Z6 plans at Mobile World Congress in February.
