Smart collar could help your dog talk!

A UK based company is working on some incredible new technology which could help you to communicate with your best friend

While many of us would probably say that we communicate just fine with our dog (those eyes are just incredible expressive) it would be nice to get a deeper insight into exactly what they're thinking. Well this new product may be able to help.

UK crowd Fetch are working on a piece of tech which they're calling WhatsYapp. It's a smart collar and companion app which work together to determine what's going through a dogs brain at certain times. So untold excitement and movements towards the door might suggest that it's time for a walk, and the collar has plenty of sophisticated sensors to help figure out what's going on. The intention is to have this info relayed to your screen as messages (which look a bit like WhatsApp).

It's all part of a move towards giving pets more tech, as in the video below.

Ok so there's a pretty good chance that this set up won't actually work - how will the app or collar know what a bark means most of the time? - but the other two concepts sound like pretty good ideas, and could potentially make it past the prototype phase. Right now Fetch is looking for votes on products and then they'll put their research to the test by getting one of them made.
