See Michael Fassbender in Assassins Creed stills
Michael Fassbender is already shooting scenes for the major new Assassin's Creed movie - see him in costume as a killer
We're still pretty surprised that Assassin's Creed is actually being made into a movie, and even more gobsmacked that very fine actor/Irish lad Michael Fassbender is on board in the title role. Come to think of it, the fact that it also stars Brendan Gleeson and Marion Cotillard and is being directed by a fellow who just finished an acclaimed Shakespeare adaptation is pretty weird too.
But it is totally a real film that will be in cinemas in late 2016, and to prove it we've got some images straight from the set.
It will tell a new story apart from the games about a man who ends up using a special machine that let's him travel utilise genetic memory to embody his ancestors. In this case, he's out to gain some vital assassinating skills to deal with some bad business in the modern day.
The film is currently shooting in Spain and some amateur shots have been popping up. These appeared on the Skriptfr Facebook page.
The clothing is definitely familar, with Fassbender playing his ancestor Aguilar in 15th Century Spain. Right now we're just hoping the whole thing isn't a silly mess, though we're still pretty much flabberghasted that someone is spending close to $200 million on it.
Assassin's Creed is in cinemas in December 2016.
