Rocket League is expanding again to offer the best players a chance to prove their worth and win great prizes into the bargain

Rocket League went from a little known title to an overnight success story on its release in 2015, mostly because it's a ridiculous amount of fun to play and has a keen balance of skill, risk taking and zany action. And if you fancy yourself a bit of a pro at the game, now's the time to prove it.

The developers have been hinting at an E-Sports future for the title for awhile now, and so it has come to pass with the launch of the inaugural Rockey League Champinship Series. It's going to be big, here's a trailer.

There isn't a huge amount to go on there but the Championship is going to be held in co-operation with Twitch. The first matches are set to kick off in March, with registration opening on the 25th of the month. You'll need to have three on your team to compete (and they better be good) with the first season taking place over three months and drawing in players from across Europe and America.

The top four teams from each region will be invited along to a live final (somewhere in America we're guessing) to compete for the grand prize of a total of $55,000. For the moment this competition is only open on Steam and PlayStation 4.
