Overwatch beta adding more players this weekend

Blizzard announced that the Overwatch beta running this weekend will be open to even more players, though warns that performance could suffer.

If you haven’t been lucky enough to get into the Overwatch beta, you may have another shot this weekend. Blizzard is to expand the beta’s head count for 36 hours this weekend.

Those who’d like to have the opportunity to join the Overwatch beta should head to the beta opt-in section of your account. If you’ve already taken part in a past beta, you don’t need to do anything.

"Since this is a stress test, we're primarily interested in technical feedback, like how Overwatch runs on players' systems, critical bug reports, and other game-impacting problems," Blizzard wrote in its announcement.

"One of our goals is to push our hardware to the limit, so players shouldn’t be surprised if they experience performance issues or run into unexpected downtime—that's all part of the process."

Blizzard will release a new patch to coincide with the beta. The Overwatch weekend beta gets underway at 5pm on Friday, April 15th.
