Nintendo's first mobile app released worldwide

Nintendo has released its first smartphone app, a social free-to-play game called Miitomo, worldwide on Android and iOS.

Nintendo has made its first smartphone app, Miitomo, available to everyone.

Miitomo is a social game in which players create a Mii avatar, outfit them, and interact with friends by asking them questions. There’s also a pachinko mini-game to enjoy.

The app is free to play and comes with a range of clothing items that can be purchased using real currency.

This is Nintendo’s first foray into mobile gaming. The company says that future releases will be more traditional games featuring recognisable Nintendo characters.

Miitomo was released in Japan earlier in March. It was downloaded more than 1 million times in the first three days after launch. This resulted in Nintendo’s stock jumping more than 8% in Japan.

Miitomo is now available on Android and iOS.
