New Kindle Oasis leaks - could have 20 month battery and buttons to turn pages
Amazon is set to reveal a new Kindle this week and naturally a leak managed to happen before they could officially announce it
There's a new Kindle set to be shown off this week from Amazon, but naturally a leak happened first.
The Kindle Oasis briefly appeared online before being taken down, but all of the important information had already been screengrabbed and shared everywhere. There's a new design with a larger bezel on one side that's designed to make it much easier to hold one handed. You also get physical buttons for turning pages right on that edge, which means you won't have to adjust your position to progress in your latest book.
The listing claimed a 300ppi screen, 131g in weight and just 3.4 mm at its thinnest point, and 8.5 at its thickest. Perhaps the biggest news is that this device also comes with a rechargeable case, something which we'd heard in the rumour mill. They're made of geniune leather (in Black, Brown and Red) and could expand your battery life to a massive 20 months. The case snaps on using magnets and charges at the same time as the Kindle, before discharging first.
Lighter, easier to hold and with a pretty amazing battery life - that sounds like plenty to be offering to customers in the new Kindle Oasis. Expect official news soon.
