Minecraft officially announced for Wii U

Minecraft is finally coming to the Wii U. Nintendo revealed that Minecraft: Wii U Edition will be released on December 17th and available on the eShop.

Wii U owners will soon be able to delve into the pixilated world of Minecraft. Nintendo revealed that Minecraft: Wii U Edition will be released on December 17th.

The Wii U version of the immensely popular title will come bundled with several content packs, with 16 more add-ons available to buy separately, and will support off-TV play on the GamePad controller.

Nintendo has revealed that it is working with developer Mojang on special theme packs. More will be revealed later, but it would be reasonable to guess that they'll be Nintendo skins and themes.

Minecraft: Wii U Edition will be available to buy from the Nintendo eShop on December 17th.
