Metal Gear Solid V players must dismantle nukes for secret mission
Metal Gear Solid V players can get access to a secret mission and cutscene, but it will require all nukes on their platform to be dismantled.
There's a secret mission to unlock in Metal Gear Solid V, but it's not all that easy to unlock.
Konami revealed the steps required to unlock the secret mission, which dataminers found the cutscene for but couldn't work out how it was triggered. To trigger the secret nuclear disarmament event:
- You must have completed Mission 31.
- You must not own or be currently developing a nuclear weapon. If you have any nukes in stock, you must dismantle them.
- Certain conditions related to nuclear proliferation must be met on the regional server for your corresponding gaming platform (PS4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PC):
- All nuclear weapons on the regional server corresponding to your console or platform must have been dismantled. In other words, the amount of nukes on your platform’s server must be equal to 0.
Konami says, "If all conditions are met, you will automatically trigger the secret nuclear disarmament event when you return to Mother Base or after you complete a main mission."
“Should new nukes be developed after conditions 3 and 4 have been fulfilled, this event can be repeated by fulfilling all four conditions again.”
Konami has revealed that the third requirement has been met on all platforms. Now it's up to players to dismantle their nukes. Players have been eager to oblige; after all, they get more content if they play ball. Konami revealed that current nuke figures stand at 206 on PlayStation 4, 40 on Xbox One, 153 on PlayStation 3, 39 on Xbox 360, and a staggering 12,081 on Steam.
The only way to make the scene viewable is to get the number of nukes down to 0 on your platform of choice. It could be a long road for PC players.
