Levelling up: Profits rise to €3.47m at games firm Zynga
The Irish unit of online game firm Zynga hit a new level last year, with pre-tax profits increasing by 1.5pc to $3.82m (€3.47m).
This followed revenues increasing marginally from $290m to $294m in the 12 months to the end of December last.
Zynga Game Ireland Ltd generates its revenues from the sale of virtual items associated with its online games.
According to the directors' report, the increase in revenues was driven by a global increase in sales years on year.
The directors said that the increase in total revenue can be attributed to an increase in userpay bookings from certain games. Those earnings were also supplemented by the acquisition of Gram Games's Hyper-Casual card and puzzle game studios.
Zynga games produces a variety of games including Farmville, Zynga Poker and Words with Friends.
At the end of last year, the firm's shareholder funds stood at $40m including $22.5m in cash.
