iPhone SE already hugely popular in China with 3.4 million pre sales
A report is stating that the iPhone SE has already notched up an impressive 3.4 million pre sales in China, ahead of its release
The iPhone SE isn't even out yet, with the first round of handsets available from the 31st of March, but it's already set to be a major success.
That's no surprise from a company which still dominates the smartphone market worldwide. Apple hasn't released official pre order figures for the smaller screened device, but a report from CNBC has a first glimpse at the kind of expectations we should have. The news suggests that more than 3.4 million handsets have been reserved in China already, as the company continues its rise in the East.
The new phone is likely to have widespread appeal because of its lower price point, while still delivering impressive specs. Though it's still not exactly a budget priced phone.
One interesting point to note is that these reservations aren't the same as pre orders - the customers won't necessarily convert every one of them into a purchase as no money has changed hands yet. We'll have to wait and see how the launch of the iPhone SE goes in China and around the world on the 31st of March 2016.
