A number of Apple device owners are reporting issues with their device's Touch ID since upgrading to iOS 9.1. Apple is yet to comment on these issues.

iOS 9.1 is now available to download, but many iPhone users are now reporting problems when trying to log in.

Complaints are appearing online that the Touch ID sensor is unreliable, slow, or has even forgotten their fingerprint.

Users of a variety of Apple devices, including the iPhone 5, iPhone 5S, iPhone 6, iPhone 6S, iPhone 6S Plus and the iPad Air 2, are taking to Apple's support forums to report issues.

Reddit user, DaedraCross, said TouchID "only works about 15% of the time and takes around 7 seconds to unlock, if it actually recognises my fingerprint." Meanwhile, Iamthebchang wrote on Reddit that "it's like sensor was dead. Only way to open the phone was to use passcode."

Apple is yet to comment on the issue or if a fix is in the pipeline.
