Google giving away 2GB of Drive space

Emma Clark

Google is today giving away 2GB of Drive space once you complete a security checkup of your account to coincide with Safer Internet Day 2016.

Google is giving Drive users an additional 2GB of space today.

To get your hands on the additional space, you'll need to go through a brief account security checkup. It doesn't take long to do, but you'll go through your two-step verification settings, account recovery information, and which apps have access to your Google account.

Once you complete this process, you'll get an additional 2GB of Drive space permanently. Google ran a similar promotion last year, but you can still claim this space if you completed the process last year too.

This offer and security checkup coincides with Safer Internet Day 2016, which is meant to promote safe and secure usage of technology and smartphones.
