Google Fit adds more fitness tracking features and app integration
Before we all decide we need to improve ourselves, Google Fit is improving itself so it will be of more use. It's adding new metrics and app integration.
It's that time of year where everyone goes out and enjoys themselves before coming to terms with the fact that they need to get in better shape. Google Fit is making itself more appealing to those who want to take up exercise with a wealth of new features and improvements.
If you lean towards strength training rather than cardio, Google Fit now counts every sit-up, push-up, and squat using your Android Wear device.
Google has also added metrics for those who run, walk, or cycle. You can now see real-time stats, and it also records your speed, pace, route, and elevation.
People often think that fitness begins and ends in the gym, but rest and nutrition are just as important, if not more so. Google Fit is adding integration with a variety of nutrition and sleep-tracking apps to give you a more rounded approach to creating a better you.
Google Fit's new strength training and cardio functionality is available now, while compatibility with nutrition and sleep-tracking apps is to be rolled out in the coming days.
