GIFs are coming to Twitter

Paul Mallon

There's a new feature rolling out to some Twitter users right now which puts a dedicated GIF button right in their dashboard

You can say a lot with very few words on Twitter but you may soon be able to speak volumes more through the power of GIFs.

Selected users have seen a new feature pop up in their Twitter feeds today, with a dedicated button for inserting GIFs into the feed. It's a simple tool which had direct access to trending GIFs and also a way to search by mood, so you could get to exactly what you were thinking of in a minimal number of clicks.

This feature was live for a short time before suddenly disappearing, presumably because it wasn't supposed to go out to the public yet. We fully expect official word on it from Twitter in the coming weeks when it will become even easier to express yourself online. Provided you know what GIF to look for.
