Firewatch will let you buy physical copies of in-game photos

Emma Clark

Firewatch will take a novel approach with its Photo Mode, allowing players to buy physical copies of their in-game photos.

Photo Mode in games isn't a new concept, but Firewatch is to take it to a whole new level by allowing players to purchase prints of in-game photos.

Firewatch features an in-game disposable camera and it will be possible to snap shots of the landscape and get 4" x 6" prints delivered. After finishing the game, you'll be given a link to an online store where you can order your prints.

The feature is to be supported on Steam, but publisher Panic hopes to make it available to PlayStation 4 players. Panic's Cabel Sasser told Polygon, "We are actively investigating what it would take to make this happen on the PlayStation 4. Sony wants it and so do we!"

TechBuffalo published their Firewatch photos so you can get an idea of how they turn out.
