Facebook wants to tell you the weather

Daniel Anderson

Facebook pretty much wants to be involved in every single part of your life, and that includes informing you about the weather

Facebook is everywhere, with over a billion users and uncounted floods of updates, photos, tags, videos and a whole lot more everyday. But the company isn't content to just be a source of social media entertainment for the masses, it wants to integrate into your life even more.

The latest feature which has been added to your feed is weather. Some users are reporting that the Android and iOS apps for Facebook are now showing a new item at the top of your feed with a message about the time of day and what kind of weather to expect. It might even suggest what you should wear if you're going outside!

The Next Web reports that some users in the UK are seeing these new app cards, with the feature up for testing. Facebook hasn't mentioned anything about adding a weather summary to the app but it looks like the info is provided by and you'll be able to expanded content by clicking through to a link on their site, which is personalised to your location. We're hoping to see this feature rolling out to all Facebook users soon.
