Rise of the Tomb Raider has new content launching soon with an Endurance mode which makes heat and food all important

If you thought Rise of the Tomb Raider was all too easy, there's a new challenge to make keeping Lara alive all the more difficult.

Endurance mode has just been added to the new Tomb Raider game, as part of the season pass or for an extra €10. The DLC brings a whole new way to play to Crystal Dynamics' latest offering, with Lara thrown into an open world scenario where she must investigate crypts, claim artifacts and just plain survive until she can be extracted.

The kicker this time is that if you are away from the soothing balm of a camp fire for too long, or forget to eat that you'll instantly die. And in this mode you've only got a single life, plus the added threat of lions and tigers and bears (oh my) and - of course - people with guns.

Here's a first look at the new mode.

Ok so its not the most electrifying playthrough as its clear this player has never encountered the mode before, but there's definitely some extra challenge there for those who want a little more time with Lara. Is it worth a tenner? Well that's up to you.
