DOOM - new trailer release date and collectors set

Doom is back this year and id Software has shown off a new trailer as well as details on the release and special edition

Doom is back in 2016 and it's looking gorier than ever if this new trailer is anything to go by!

You can see the new contextual finishers in action there - an enemy will glow when their health is lowered and you can move in for a special kill. And you even get a glimpse at a space marine death scene here too, is that likely to happen in the full game?

We'll know soon enough, as developers id Software (they basically invented the first person shooter fact fans) have confirmed the game will launch on the 13th of May 2016. It's coming to PC, PS4 and Xbox One and quite rightly the daddy of shooters will arrive in a special collector's set. It comes in a huge box and includes a model of a terrifying creature which has a light and a spinning turbine - because they like the industrial design stuff.

That's going to cost over 100 quid, and as you can see it's strictly limited. Though we're willing to bet it won't be that limited. Wouldn't it have been cooler to have a space marine or even a BFG?
