VTech has said that last week's Learning Lodge data breach affected as many as 5 million customers, revealing account details and some personal info.

VTech, the makers of kid's toys and tablets, has revealed that last week’s data breach has resulted in 5 million customer accounts being compromised.

The attack didn’t reveal credit card data, but it did give hackers details such as customer's names, addresses, encrypted passwords, and even birthdays and genders for kids.

VTech has said that it has alerted Learning Lodge customers of the hack. If you have one of its devices, you should change your password and password retrieval information as soon as possible.

The company says that it is still investigating the situation and will be looking into ways to improve its security. With Christmas on the horizon, and tablets still as popular as ever, the timing of this breach couldn’t be much worse for VTech.
