Child gets rude awakening after opening 'PS4' on Christmas morning
One nine-year-old had their Christmas morning ruined after they opened their new "PlayStation 4 console" to find a defaced block of wood.
The Grinch stole one family's Christmas as jubilation turned into crushing disappointment. Nine-year-old Scott Lundy eagerly unwrapped a PlayStation 4 box and naturally wanted to set it up immediately.
"Yes, this is the best Christmas ever. Dad, can we set this up now?" he exclaimed, according to Boston's Fox 25. But when he opened it up, there was nothing but a block of wood. As if that wasn't bad enough, whatever prankster left the wooden brick defaced it too.
“He’s crying and he’s upset and he’s in the playroom by himself and he just wants to be alone so at that point. I was crushed,” said Kristin Lundy, his step-mother.
The Lundys returned the fake console to the Saugus Target where it was originally bought and were issued a new one, along with a $100 gift card and a copy ofThe Uncharted Collection. While that may be some consolation, it hardly makes up for the crushing disappointment they felt on Christmas morning.
“This has ruined his belief in Santa,” Kristin's Facebook post said.
