Apple is currently working with singer Will.i.am on a TV series about apps and the app economy, though details are scarce at the moment.

Apple is taking on the role of a content producer now. It is working with singer Will.i.am on its first TV series, which will focus on apps.

The unscripted series is being developed with help from Will.i.am, and veteran TV execs, Ben Silverman and Howard T. Jones.

In an interview with the New York Times, Apple's senior vice president of Internet software and services, Eddy Cue said " One of the things with the app store that was always great about it was the great ideas that people had to build things and create things."

But Apple isn't set to move into TV or movie production, according to Cue.

Further details about the production are unknown; it's unclear how people will watch it, how long episodes will be, when it will air, or even what it will be called.
