Paddy Power Betfair will publish interim results on Wednesday. Of particular interest to investors will be the impact, if any, of the fixed odds betting terminal regulation introduced in the UK earlier this year, and guidance around the potential of a liberalising US market.

Tomorrow, the Central Statistics Office (CSO) will publish industrial production and turnover figures for June.

This will be followed by consumer price index figures for July, due out on Thursday, while on Friday the CSO is due to release the vehicle registration figures for July.

In tech news Samsung will unveil its next Galaxy Note smartphone on Thursday.

It features an improved camera and an upgraded processor from Qualcomm. The new model is expected to be called the Note 9.

The first phase of reimposed US sanctions on Iran comes into effect this week. US President Donald Trump announced his intention to withdraw the US from the international nuclear deal with Iran in May and is seeking a tougher stance on Iran from European allies.

Meanwhile on Friday the US Department of Agriculture publishes its world agriculture supply and demand report.
