What happens when you put a brand new tech headquarters in an already-booming part of Dublin?

This week, Adrian sits down with Mikkel Svane, the founder and chief executive of Zendesk, one of the world’s fastest-growing customer software companies.

It has just opened a shiny new building in Dublin 2 along the Grand Canal, with a plan to double its workforce to 500 people there.

Adrian asked Svane not only about his company but about the issues that an increasingly concentrated bunch of tech companies bring to a city, including soaring rents and house prices.

Svane also explains why the company has installed a “mother’s room” in the new Dublin building and how he doesn’t think Zendesk is a rival to Dublin’s biggest homegrown tech firm, Intercom.

Svane also puts to bed a story that he coded up a key part of Zendesk during an LSD binge.
