Eircom refunds €700,000 to customers whose lines were out of service
Eircom has paid a total of €700,000 in refunds to almost 12,000 customers whose lines were out of service for over 10 days last year.
The operator says that it has refunded €600,000 to retail and residential customers and €100,000 to businesses.
The refund applies to outages suffered between the end of December in 2013 and April 30th of last year, a period when the country was hit with severed storm damage.
It comes a month after 12,000 Irish subscribers to a premium rate mobile quiz service were refunded €390,000. The service, which charged consumers up to €12.50 per week, was operated by Dragonfly Mobile Limited.
Comreg said that the company was not in compliance with various provisions of the Premium Rate Service Code of Practice and in breach of its licence.
