A NEW app is set to take ‘double screening’ to the next level.

GAAther is a new social networking app which will bring  GAA fans worldwide together to discuss the game.

The app, created by three Louth men, will take full advantage of ‘double screening’ – the new phenomenon of watching TV and using a tablet or smartphone at the same time.

After signing up, users choose which counties or clubs they wish to follow.

The app isn’t just limited to Irish teams however – over 400  teams abroad are also included.

The app’s creators say it will solve the current problem fans face of having to crawl through Facebook and Twitter in order to engage with other fans.

Also included in the app is a live match feature – which will allow fans at matches to feed in photos and videos from games.

The three creators - John McKeown, Michael McKeown and Daniel Bannon – all hail from the Co Louth village of Collon.

They will be at the Dublin Web Summit next week, at stand number D309.
