If you think you have a phone addiction, then a new project on Kickstarter called NoPhone just might have the answer to your problems.

The NoPhone is a brick-shaped technology-free alternative to a smartphone.

It looks like a smartphone and is shaped like an iPhone 5. But the device is as useless as a brick. Except for the fact that it feels like a smartphone.

Does it have a camera? No.

Is it Bluetooth compatible? No.

Does it make calls? No.

Is it toilet bowl resistant? Yes.

Its one function is to stave off the craving of actually holding your phone.

The NoPhone inventors' pitch to Kickstarter is: "Phone addiction is real. And it's everywhere. It's ruining your dates. It's distracting you at concerts. It's disrupting you in movie theaters. It's clogging up sidewalks."

But just before you start saving up the equivalent of $12 (€9.27), the inventors say "one potential challenge is that development could take longer than expected".

The tongue-in-cheek blurb on Kickstarter suggests that the battery free, shatterproof, waterproof and no-upgrades-necessary is in the development process.
