HTC One A9's fingerprint scanner spotted

The HTC One A9 will come with a fingerprint scanner, according to leaked images claiming to be of the upcoming device. We'll find out on September 29th.

The HTC One A9 will have a fingerprint scanner, according to an image that claims to be of the upcoming device.

The image appeared on French website FrAndroid. It shows off the front of the device, which has rounded corners, a white body and HTC’s logo. Most interestingly, it looks as though the device has a fingerprint scanner.

There have been conflicting rumours about the A9’s specs in recent weeks. Some say it will have a deca-core processor and 4GB of RAM, while PhoneArena has suggested it will have more modest specs like an octa-core Snapdragon 617 chipset and 2GB of RAM.

Biometric security is set to be one of the leading selling points of Android 6.0 Marshmallow, so it would make sense for HTC’s upcoming handset to get in on that action.

We don’t have long to wait for official word of the One A9’s specs. HTC is hosting an event on September 29th where it is expected to reveal the HTC One A9.
