DHL testing drone delivery service

Mail and express delivery firm Deutsche Post DHL is testing a drone that could be used to deliver badly needed goods to difficult-to-reach places.

The small pilotless helicopter is flying a package of medicine today from a chemist in Bonn to the company's headquarters on the other side of the Rhine - . the aircraft can carry up to 3 kilogrammes.

The test flights needed permission from local aviation authorities.

Amazon is also working on a drone service to be used for deliveries.
