INDEPENDENT News & Media (INM) has been selected as the Web Summit 2014's media partner.

The Web Summit will take place at Dublin's RDS from November 4 to 6 and will host 20,000 people from more than 100 countries with recently announced speakers including actress and angel investor Eva Longoria and entrepreneur and super model Lily Cole.

INM, which owns independent.ie and the Irish Independent, will create a newsroom at the Web Summit and provide high-level coverage of it over the three days.

The move will highlight that integrated technology and multimedia is part of a modern newsroom - Independent.ie is Ireland's number one news site with 9.1 million unique visitors recorded in July 2014.

"The partnership between INM and the Web Summit links the best digital news offering in Ireland to cutting-edge developments in technology," said Stephen Rae, editor-in-chief at INM. "We have lots of exciting ideas around collaboration between our titles online and in print which bolt on to our partnership with the Web Summit."

Paddy Cosgrave, co-founder of the Web Summit, added that INM's focus on online growth and its multimedia audience had been impressive.

"It's a great fit for us to tell the stories and news about our event that will be of interest to everyone."

Guests at the event will include actresses Eva Longoria and Lily Cole, rugby star Jamie Heaslip, Jeff Jampol, who managed the Doors and Michael Jackson, ebook's investor Peter Thiel, Dropbox founder Drew Houston and Mark Pincus, founder of gaming giant Zynga.
