Why has Samsung made the Galaxy edge? My best guess is simply because it could. The 5.6-inch 'phablet' is almost identical to the new Galaxy Note 4 in every way, except that one side of the handset is a small curved display.

This doesn't do very much more than tell the time and offer notifications. But it does look quite novel: there was a queue to try it out in Berlin's IFA show, where I put it through a few paces. The battery is a bit smaller than the Note 4's, which may be a concern.
