A Stunning iPhone case – new phone cover has built in stun gun
A NEW cover for the Apple iPhone invented by a former military police officer will have a 650 volt built in stun gun.
Seth Froom (23), a former military police officer, came up with the idea after a traumatic personal incident, The Huffington Post reports.
Froom says he came up with the idea after an armed robber broke into his home and took mobile phones, laptops and electronic devices. He says he wondered how he could have changed the outcome of the situation.
The case, which will cost $125 (), will come with its own built in battery, with a charge the makers claim can take down ‘a fully grown aggressive adult male’.
Crucially the cover also comes with a built in safety switch, so the user is not accidentally electrocuted during a phone call or while texting.
The makers are still looking for a large investment in order for them to be able to mass produce the product.
The new phone cover is not the first designed for self defense, company Smartguard sells covers with a can of pepper spray concealed.
