Risk management software that was developed in Clare, has been shortlisted for one of the most prestigious awards in its field.

An application that was created by Shannon-based firm, LinkResQ, has been nominated in the 'Risk Management Solution of the Year' category at the Global Risk Awards.

"This is like the Oscars for the risk management industry and to have been shortlisted is a tremendous achievement for us", said chief technology officer at LinkResQ, Gerard Joyce.

CalQRisk was launched in 2010 by Gerard Joyce and Paul O'Brien  and since then has grown to become a player in the industry with a client base spanning the aviation, credit union, care home, education and asset management sectors.

The CalQRisk software is a risk management information system developed to address the growing need to effectively manage risk in a holistic and consistent manner throughout an enterprise.

LinkResQ managing director, Paul O'Brien said feedback was crucial to its success.

The awards, which are being held by the Risk Management Institute, will take place in March 2016 in London and features nominees from all over the world, including the US, UK, Australia, India and Indonesia.
