O'Donnells Crisps: Seven generations of crips from Tipperary

Ed O’Donnell, a seventh generation farmer from Tipperary launched O'Donnells Crisps in June 2010.

The idea for the business came to Ed while he was studying agriculture in England and subsequently working with an English vegtable company in England and Spain. He noticed how farmers there were diversifying into other businesses to generate additional income.  He returned home to the family farm in 2006, and saw the prospect of using the potatoes grown on the farm to produce crisps. There were already a large number of hand cooked British crisps being sold in Ireland, so he saw an opportunity in the market for an authentic hand cooked Irish crisp.

Ed believed it was important that the product and flavours were Irish and artisan so he sourced local food producers to give the crisps fantastic individual flavours.

O’Donnells have just launched two new flavours which bring the range to a total of five. The two new flavours are “Jalapeño and Sour Cream” and “Hickory Barbeque flavour” which won the gold medal at Blas na hEireann, Irish Food Awards 2013.

O’Donnells crisps have no artificial colours or flavours, No MSG or GM ingredients, just honest to goodness crunch!
