'Absolutely huge' for small business Ryan Stoves to sponsor Munster rugby for a day
It was “absolutely huge” to sponsor the Munster players for their clash against Edinburgh at the weekend, the managing director of Ryan Stoves has said.
A former rugby player himself, Larry Ryan said the coverage his business has received on the match day and in the Irish Independent has already resulted in calls from as far as Donegal.
“It was absolutely huge from a business point of view, it’s such a huge brand, it’s brilliant to be associated with Munster,” Larry said.
Ryan Stoves was one of two lucky businesses that won the Bank Of Ireland Sponsor for a Day competition, run in conjunction with independent.ie.
“Munster rugby is worldwide really,” Larry said.
“We started out as a small business but now we’re Munster’s leading stove supplier through honesty, hard work and passion in our product so this is a great opportunity to get our name out there.
“It’s hard for us to get a hand on advertising, but there’s a whole new market out there now.
“We’ve even had inquiries from Donegal.”
The company is a family run business involved in the stove and heating industry for the last two decades, with showrooms on the old N7 from Limerick to Nenagh and the Parkway Shopping Centre in Limerick.
Valued at a minimum of €50,000, each of the two prizes includes the winning company's logo on the Munster or Leinster jerseys, pitch signage, corporate hospitality for 10 guests and a match programme advert.
A judging panel consisting of Mick Dawson (CEO Leinster Rugby); Garrett Fitzgerald (CEO Munster Rugby); Gerry Prizeman (Head of Small Business & Agriculture -- BOI) and Richard Curran (Independent Newspapers business columnist) selected a shortlist of five in each province.
The selected companies were put forward to a public vote on Independent.ie.
