SME conference begins today at Dublin Castle
A two-day event focusing on SME development policy began today as part of Ireland’s Presidency of the EU Council.
The conference aims to encourage entrepreneurship by discussing how smaller business and SME clusters can access support and secure funding. It was opened by Minister for Research and Innovation Sean Sherlock, TD.
Entrepreneurs, policy-makers and public and private SME support organisations will be attending the event, which expects to draw up to 500 delegates.
Implementation plans for the EU's new research and innovation programme Horizon 2020 will also be discussed over the next two days.
