Most small firms to hire permanent staff in coming months
THE pace of job losses in small businesses is slowing down, according to the Small Firms Association.
The organisation's latest Job Sentiment Survey found that most firms plan to hire permanent or temporary staff in the months ahead, while only one in five saw staff numbers declining.
The majority of companies also expect their staffing levels to increase or at least remain static in 2012.
SFA director Patricia Callan said the overall results show there is ‘’a positive outlook’’, but the the forecast for job creation is still weak.
The study was undertaken in September and surveyed 649 firms in the manufacturing, distribution, retail and services sectors.
