Budget 2020: Ibec requests support for firms facing Brexit
A delegation from Ibec, the group that represents Irish business, met with the minister for finance Paschal Donohoe yesterday to formally present its submission ahead of Budget 2020 on October 8.
Ibec's analysis holds that Ireland faces three significant challenges: risks to our foreign direct investment (FDI) model arising from the OECD's Base Erosion and Profit Sharing (BEPS); the slowdown in the global trading environment; and changes to Ireland's relationship with the UK.

"The Government needs to meet these challenges by directing the proceeds of the current corporation tax boom into future and sustainable producing assets via infrastructure, innovation and education," said Ibec CEO Danny McCoy. "Deal or no deal, we must be prepared."
