Irish legal firm selected for incubator programme
Courtsdesk, an Irish legal and business intelligence tech firm that provides access to courts and companies data, has been selected as part of international law firm Mishcon de Reya's business incubator programme - the 'MDR Lab'.
The programme focuses on product development, aiming to help the companies deepen their understanding of the problems lawyers face in their day-to-day work, giving them the opportunity to test their products with real-life users to iterate new designs and features quickly.
Senior partners and managers at the London law firm, which represented the late British Royal Princess Diana in her 1996 divorce from Prince Charles, selected six firms from a list of applicants from around the world.
Now in its third year, the MDR Lab will include Courtsdesk, alongside firms from the US, Sweden and the UK.
Enda Leahy, CEO of Courtdesk, said: “It’s an ideal way for us to roll out into the UK market later this year - the programme gives us access to the most senior specialists in the firm to hone our legal research tools and services for the UK.
"Out of 11 previous companies [on the programme] seven have active commercial relationships or pilots with the firm, and Mischon has invested in three, so it's a serious business opportunity in its own right," Mr Leahy added.
