Daffodil Day is this Friday – and if you're a charitable sort but are too lazy to walk to the nearest collection box, you can donate via smartphone.

Dell and the Irish Cancer Society have teamed up to launch a free Daffodil Day app, which allows you to make a donation or volunteer your time on March 28.

The money raised on Daffodil Day goes towards funding the work of the Irish Cancer Society, including the provision of a night nursing service to those who are seriously ill with cancer and wish to remain at home. You can download the app from Google Play, Windows Phone and the iOS App Store.

If you haven't yet paid your property tax or the 2012 household charge, you now have just over a week to do so to avoid getting hit with interest and penalties.

March 31 is the final deadline to come clean.

You only have the option to pay by single debit authority (similar to an electronic cheque) if you plan to pay by March 31.
