'Show us foreign investment plan'

THE American Chamber of Commerce Ireland has called on the Government to set out its plan for attracting the next generation of multinationals.

PayPal's Louise Phelan (right), president of the American Chamber, told business chiefs at its Thanksgiving lunch in Dublin yesterday that the so-called roadmap must set out how those in government, industry and education can build an environment to support foreign direct investment (FDI) growth.

"That FDI Roadmap will establish what will make Ireland successful in the coming decade and beyond," Ms Phelan said.

She also said that the chamber, along with Royal Irish Academy, would be launching a research and innovation award honouring innovation across the island.
