Are you a spender or a saver? "A bit of both. I guess I'm a typical actuary."

What's the brokest you've ever been?

"After Christmas of 1985. We had gotten our January paycheques before Christmas and I arrived back in Dublin with very little in my pocket. I've had an aversion to tomato soup ever since."

What's the last good meal you had?

"The Brown Bear Restaurant at Two Mile House, Naas."

What are you reading?

"I'm a Kindle man and I'm reading Sir Alex Ferguson's biography Leader."

Do you have any hobbies?

"Golf and horse racing - as a hobby. I live in Kildare so I'm near a few racecourses. I also enjoy gardening.

Do you have any vices?

"I've given them all up! Probably chocolate and whiskey, together."
