Smart spender: Top deals and offers for Father's Days
It's father's Day on Sunday so Caitríona Redmond rounds up some gift options for those who haven't yet bought the socks...
Superhero scents: Why shouldn't a father have the scent to match his super powers? Penneys have limited edition bottles of eau de toilette in 75ml size aimed at the superhero in your life.
The neck of the Superman scent is imprinted 'Man of Steel', and the Batman scent is imprinted with 'Dark Knight'. At a price of just €9 per bottle, it's a budget gift that can easily be bought with pocket money. Available while stocks last, you'll find this scent in the 'Primarket' section of the popular department store nationwide. www.primark.ie for more information.
Socks and gowns
If you're looking for a gift for a grandfather, Marks and Spencer have you covered with some socks for the "Greatest Grandad In The World", and they're priced at €4.75.
For the greatest Dad, how about a boxing contest style dressing gown? Costing €40 and made of fleece with the embroidered slogan on the back, it's sure to make the Dad in your life smile. Both of these products are available from Marks And Spencer, see www.marksandspencer.ie for availability.
Socks are one of the greatest fallback gifts for Dads I've found, so why not buy your Dad the ultimate pair of socks? While they are on the pricey side for socks (prices start from €11), 1,000 Mile Socks are the best that you can buy. They come with a dual layer which prevents blisters and are made from a wicking material which prevents feet from getting sweaty. These socks are also compression standard which means that they delay feet from getting tired. 1,000 Mile Socks are the secret weapon of long-distance walkers and runners alike. You'll find these socks in Elverys Sports, 53 Degrees North, and specialist sports shops.
Milano's are celebrating on Sunday by offering a starter and main course selection for €13.95 and children will receive free 'My Dad The Hero' mask colouring packs to keep them occupied at the table. See www.milano.ie/fathersday for further information.
