IT was dubbed Ireland's cheapest home but nobody got the chance to buy it.
Just half an hour before it was due to go under the hammer at yesterday's Allsop Space auction, the tiny Co Leitrim bungalow with an even smaller reserve was pulled from the sale.
The cost of the two bedroom cottage in Drumcannon was set at just €7,500 -- a price so small it attracted attention across the world. The reason for its eleventh hour withdrawal, however, remained a mystery last night. "We don't have any information on that but this happens a lot in auctions," explained director of auctions Robert Hoban.
"We received instructions to withdraw the property."
