A development of 68 houses is being constructed at Marlton Hall, which is a cul de sac in Wicklow town, off the Marlton Road and built by Redmond Construction.
The improved N11 motorway makes city access amenable and under 50km away. For those preferring other transport, the train and bus station is 1.5km from the estate.
There are five styles, three-and four-bedroom houses and dormer bungalows. For now, there are 23 units on the market: four four-bedroom detached and 14 four-bedroom semi-detached houses, measuring 1,340 sq ft. They are priced between €295,000 and €303,000 for the semis and €330,000 for the stand-alone version.
They have a kitchen/dining room, spanning the rear of the house, with a utility room off this. There is a lounge up front and a guest WC completing the downstairs accommodation. One of the upstairs bedrooms is ensuite and the main bathroom is here also.
Kitchens are finished in cream with dark wood countertops, but there is an option to take an allowance or upgrade to an alternative with the supplier. There is an inset wood-burning stove in the living room fireplace with natural gas providing the alternative heating.
The three-bedroom semi-detached is a similar layout and priced at €275,000-€278,000. They measure 1,103 sq ft in floor size.
Outside, the units are cream with a grey-brick clad to the lower front. There is a nice iron balcony feature at the main bedroom and black window surrounds. The front door is also black with glass panelling on each side with an inset fanlight.
There is a Truetone slate roof. Driveways are paved with lawns seeded and there are low brick walls to the front.
The A-rated BER is due to solar panels fitted on roofs and a rainwater harvesting system incorporated to the homes.
The launch is on Saturday and Sunday, March 21-22, and the show house will be open from 1.30pm-4pm.
