I had been watching with interest the development 'over the wall' at the Dundrum Road junction opposite Airfield. There's no access to the site from here, which was sold last year with planning permission for four houses, so my curiosity remained unsated, but these are now nearing completion by Jamie Moran Homes.

Jamie is a former contestant on The Apprentice and his company has concentrated on one-off builds up to now.

Of the four double-fronted detached properties, two have already sold off-plan, leaving numbers 1 and 3. Both have bay windows up and down on both sides and a front-door portico. The finish is in cream plaster with a part-paved, part-gravelled driveway and iron railings with small shrubbery settings to the front.

Number 1 is the smaller, measuring 2,850 sq ft over three storeys. It has a large kitchen/dining/seating area with two sets of French doors out to the back garden. There are two separate sitting rooms up front, one either side of the front door and there is a utility and guest bathroom here also.

On the first floor are three double bedrooms, one ensuite while the top floor has a master bedroom with ensuite. It is on the market for €1.35m.

Number 3 is built over four storeys with a self-contained apartment in the basement, suitable perhaps for an au-pair, student or elderly parent. This is quite substantial in size, incorporating a bedroom, bathroom, television room, gymnasium space (equally den, games room etc)., and utility. This leads out into a sunken terrace.

The developer is open to other configurations both here and on the top floor should the buyer have different requirements.

The ground floor has the main reception rooms: a kitchen/dining, sitting area, two further reception rooms, a WC and utility.

This also leads out to the garden via two sets of French doors and the partition wall can be removed making the entire space open plan, save for the room to the right of the front door.

There are three double bedrooms (one ensuite) and a bathroom on the first floor and the master suite is on top. The whole is 3,850 sq ft of space and it will cost you €1.85m.

Access to the development is via Sydenham Road leading to Sydenham Villas and a cul-de-sac. The Dundrum Luas station is adjacent to this while the Town Centre is a few minutes' walk from Pirton.

The website has floor plans for viewing and the properties are open by appointment with the developer.
