Me and my money: Juan Manuel Acosta

'My best buy was an Apple Mac, it has become my second brain -- I could even say my first brain'

DANCER Juan Manuel Acosta found that work stopped play -- at quite a cost to him.

"I bought an all-inclusive holiday package once for me and my partner and I could not go since I had a very appealing last minute offer to dance in a project," he said.

"My best-ever buy was an Apple Mac. I use it everywhere in the world... it has become my second brain -- I often could even say my first one. I have a savings plan for the last 10 years and recently used most of my savings to buy my car. Overall, I am quite good with my finances and manage to live life comfortably with my income.

"I like to treat myself when I am not working by spending my time off in luxurious spas. I also buy a lot of tango shoes. I have three different pairs of tango shoes for each suit I wear.

"If I could buy anything regardless of price, it would be a big, open-plan house with space to dance and also in the the future to have my own dance company in the centre of Palermo in Buenos Aires. All the best dancers live in and around Palermo. Then I would travel the world showcasing Argentinian culture.

"I drive a Peugeot 306 which cost $5,000 (€3,945). I bought this car as it is perfect for me and my family. I have it three years now and I wouldn't change it. More money is more important than more time off because if I have more time off I will spend all my money."

  • Juan Manuel Acosta will star in 'Tango Passion -- Ultimo Tango' at the Grand Canal Theatre from October 18-23.
