Leaving Cert students awarded full accountancy scholarships

TWO leaving certificate students have been awarded full scholarships under the Accounting Technicians Ireland Programme, just ahead of much-anticipated results next month.

The winners - Ciara O’Callaghan from St. Oliver’s Community College, Drogheda and Olivia Coffey from Terence MacSwiney Community College, Cork – were selected from over 700 schools.

They receive full funding for the one year Certificate for Accounting Technicians programme.

The scholarships will cover all tuition, professional and examination fees as well as textbooks and additional online learning supports.

Speaking after announcement of the winners, Peter Johnson, President of Accounting Technicians Ireland said:”I would like to congratulate all the scholarship recipients who are off to a great start as they take their first steps up the careers ladder.

“Graduates of Certificate for Accounting Training receive a much desired qualification after only one year and also have the option of continuing with their studies.”
