Visa has launched “AIB Everyday Rewards,” offering AIB cardholders cash back from certain retailers in Ireland.

Retailers involved in the programme include the supermarket chain Lidl, Topaz, Boots, H&M, Easons, Butlers Chocolate Café, and Elverys Sports.

The offereing is powered by Visa’s Card Linked Offers, and customers will be able to register up to five AIB cards, giving them flexibility and choice to match their spending habits when redeeming offers.

“Our partnership with Visa for ‘AIB Everyday Rewards’ allows our customers a really simple and straightforward way to enjoy cash back rewards when they use their AIB Visa debit or credit card with a range of leading retailers in Ireland,” Brian Keating, AIB group propositions & brands director said.

The benefit for retailers is that unlike other digital advertising channels, Visa provides them the ability to link a very specific offer to a specific consumer and the retailer only pays when a sale is made.

Customers will not have to worry about printing vouchers or entering codes, once they have made a purchase through the programme with their registered Visa card, they will automatically receive cash back into their Visa account, typically within five working days.

“We are delighted to launch Visa Card Linked Offers programme with AIB in the Irish market. The Visa Card Linked Offers programme is truly showcasing the power of Visa data and represents a fundamental shift for consumer rewards in Ireland,” Philip Konopik, country manager, Ireland, Visa said.

Visa cards account for more than €1 in every €3 of Irish consumer spending data has shown.
